Gospel Reflection on Matthew 10: 26 – 33

Today, Jesus calls us to courage that is born not of pride, but of trust.

He knows the world can be unjust, that speaking the truth and living the Gospel may bring misunderstanding, rejection, or even persecution.

Yet He reminds us that our Father sees everything. Nothing is hidden from Him. Our words, our struggles, and even our quiet faith are known and written in His heart.

Jesus points to the smallest of creatures – two sparrows – and shows how deeply we are loved. If the Father cares for a tiny bird, how much more for us, His children, made in His image?

He even numbers the hairs on our head. We are never alone; we are never forgotten.

To fear God – not men – is to live in the freedom of the children of God.

It means placing our hope not in the approval of the world, but in the promise of the Father who acknowledges us before all heaven when we acknowledge His Son.

Let us be disciples who speak the truth in love, live with integrity, and witness to Christ in both word and deed, at home, at work, in our communities, and wherever God sends us.

We are of more value than many sparrows-because we belong to God.

Let us pray

Lord Jesus, strengthen our hearts with Your Spirit.

Free us from fear and give us courage to live and proclaim the truth. Help us to trust in Your Father’s care, knowing we are precious in His eyes.

May we always acknowledge You before others, and be faithful disciples who shine as light in the world.

Amen.
