O my God, I trust in you

There is a quiet confidence in this Psalm that speaks straight to the heart. The psalmist does not say, “I understand everything” or “I have no fears.” Instead, he simply says, “O my God, I trust in you.”

Trust is often most beautiful when life is uncertain. It is choosing to rest in God’s care even when we cannot see the road ahead. Psalm 91 reminds us that those who place their trust in the Lord are never abandoned. God does not promise a life without trials, but He does promise His presence, His protection, and His saving love.

Perhaps that is why these words have comforted believers for centuries: “O my God, I trust in you.” They are simple enough for a child to pray, yet deep enough to carry a soul through every season of life.
