There is great comfort in these words: “O Lord, you have been our refuge, from generation to generation.”
Everything around us changes. People come and go, circumstances rise and fall, and even the strongest things in this world do not last forever. Yet God remains the same. He was the refuge of our ancestors, He is our refuge today, and He will be the refuge of those who come after us.
This Psalm reminds us that faith is not built on passing things, but on the unchanging love of God. When life is uncertain, when burdens feel heavy, or when the future seems unclear, we can rest in the confidence that countless generations before us have discovered: the Lord never abandons those who seek shelter in Him.
He has been faithful in the past, He is faithful today, and He will be faithful tomorrow.
