This acclamation reminds us that faith is never meant to be hidden. The light Christ places within us is meant to shine through our actions, our words, and the way we treat others each day.
Jesus is not calling us to seek attention for ourselves, but to live in such a way that others can see God’s goodness reflected in us. A simple act of kindness, a word of encouragement, a moment of forgiveness, or a quiet sacrifice made out of love can become a light that leads someone closer to God.
When our lives bear witness to the Gospel, people do not merely notice us, they catch a glimpse of the Father whose love is at work within us. In this way, every Christian is called to be a living sign of God’s presence in the world.
