The cry of the Psalm is the cry of every heart that has ever felt forgotten or overwhelmed. Yet it is also a prayer filled with quiet confidence. The God who hears the poor, the suffering, and the forgotten never turns away from those who place their hope in Him.
When we pray, “Do not forget the life of your poor ones forever,” we are not reminding God to care, we are reminding ourselves to trust in His faithful love. Even when His answers seem delayed, His mercy never fails, and His providence is already at work in ways we cannot yet see.
Responsorial Psalm taken from Psalm 74: 1 – 2, 3 – 4, 5 – 7, 20 – 21 (Response.) 19b
And the response is; “Do not forget the life of your poor ones forever.“
