Response: “Those who are sowing in tears will sing when they reap.”
(Psalm 126)
Few promises in Scripture speak so gently to the human heart as this one. Every life has seasons of tears, moments of loss, disappointment, sacrifice, and quiet perseverance that no one else may fully understand. Yet this psalm reminds us that God never allows a single tear offered in faith to be wasted.
The farmer does not expect a harvest the moment the seed is planted. He sows with patience, trusting that what is hidden beneath the soil will, in time, bear fruit. So it is with the Christian life. The sacrifices we make out of love, the prayers that seem unanswered, the acts of kindness that go unnoticed, and the burdens we carry with hope are all seeds placed into God’s hands.
The Lord sees what others do not. In His perfect time, He brings forth a harvest greater than we could have imagined. Sometimes that harvest comes in this life through renewed hope and unexpected blessings. At other times, it reaches its fullness in the eternal joy He has prepared for those who remain faithful.
Today, if your path is marked by tears, do not lose heart. Keep sowing goodness, keep trusting the Lord, and keep walking in faith. The God who is faithful to His promises will one day turn your sorrow into a song of thanksgiving.
