Response: “God is my refuge in the day of my distress.”

There are moments in every life when we feel surrounded by fears, uncertainty, or burdens too heavy to carry alone. In those moments, this psalm reminds us where true security is found. Our refuge is not in our own strength, nor in the changing circumstances of life, but in the steadfast love of God.
Calling the Lord our refuge is an act of trust. It is the quiet confidence that, even when the storm has not yet passed, He remains near. He sees our struggles, hears our prayers, and never abandons those who place their hope in Him.
The psalmist ends not with despair, but with praise. That is the journey of faith: bringing our distress honestly before God and discovering that His mercy is stronger than our fear. Whatever trials we face today, we can rest in the promise that the Lord is our shelter, our strength, and the faithful protector who walks beside us through every difficulty.
