“Listen, O Daughter; Pay Heed and Give Ear.”
This Psalm begins with something every life of faith requires: the willingness to listen. Before God asks us to act, He asks for our attention. In a world filled with noise, opinions and endless distractions, the heart can easily become too crowded to hear the quiet voice of the Lord.
“Pay heed and give ear” is more than simply hearing words. It means allowing God’s Word to reach deeply enough to change us, even when He leads us somewhere unexpected or asks us to surrender something we would rather hold onto.
The Psalm reminds us that true beauty before God comes from a heart that belongs to Him. Our worth is not determined by status, possessions or the approval of others, but by the love of the One who created us.
Today, perhaps the invitation is simply this: be still enough to listen. God may already be speaking. What remains is for the heart to become quiet enough to hear Him and courageous enough to follow.
