Guide Me, Lord, in the Path of Your Commands
This response from Psalm 119 is a humble admission that we cannot always trust ourselves to know the right path. There are moments when our desires pull us one way, the world points us another, and yet God’s Word quietly calls us toward what is true and good.
When we pray, “Guide me, Lord,” we are asking for more than directions. We are asking God to shape our conscience, correct us when we wander, and give us the courage to choose His will even when another way appears easier.
God’s commandments are not walls built to keep us from happiness. They are a path meant to lead us toward freedom, holiness and life with Him. The challenge is not simply knowing that path, but remaining faithful to it when obedience costs us something.
May our prayer today be sincere: Lord, do not merely show me Your way. Give me the grace to walk in it.
