“The Lord made us; we belong to him.”
Psalm 100 reminds us of something simple but deeply grounding: our lives are not accidents, and we are not our own. We come from God, we are known by God, and we belong to God.
That truth gives both comfort and direction. It means our worth does not depend on success, possessions, status, or the approval of others. Our deepest identity comes from the One who created us and continues to care for us.
The psalm also calls us to gratitude. If we belong to the Lord, then our lives should reflect that belonging through trust, worship, kindness, and faithfulness. We are His people, not because we have earned it, but because of His goodness and enduring love.
Today, may we remember where we come from and to whom we belong.
“The Lord made us; we belong to him.”
