Alleluia.
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit: to God who is, who was, and who is to come.
Alleluia
There is something wonderfully full and reverent in this Alleluia. It is not only praise; it is adoration of the living God – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – the One who holds all time and all creation in His hands.
To say, “to God who is, who was, and who is to come,” is to stand before a mystery far greater than ourselves. God is not passing, changing, or fading. He is eternal, faithful, and ever-present. He was before us, He is with us now, and He will remain when all else has passed away.
That is why these words bring both awe and peace. The God we praise is not distant. He is the everlasting Lord, and His glory never diminishes.
