Blessed are you, O holy Virgin Mary, and worthy of all praise, because from you arose the sun of justice, Christ our God.

“From You Arose the Sun of Justice, Christ Our God.”
Today’s Gospel Acclamation draws our attention to the Blessed Virgin Mary, but always leads us through Mary to Jesus Christ. Her greatness comes from the extraordinary grace God gave her: through her humble “yes,” the eternal Son of God entered our human family.
Christ is beautifully called the “Sun of Justice.” Just as the rising sun breaks through darkness and brings light to the world, Jesus enters the darkness of sin and brings us mercy, truth, hope and salvation.
Mary teaches us what can happen when a human heart becomes completely open to God. She did not know every detail of the road ahead, yet she trusted Him. Her life reminds us that holiness begins with a simple willingness to say: Lord, let Your will be done in me.
