“Your Word, O Lord, Is Truth”
In a world filled with competing voices, opinions and half-truths, this Gospel Acclamation brings us back to something firm: the Word of God does not merely tell us the truth; it leads us into the truth that gives life.
When we pray, “sanctify us in the truth,” we are asking for more than knowledge. We are asking God to let His Word change us, to correct what is false within us, purify our intentions, shape our decisions and gradually make our lives holy.
Sometimes God’s truth comforts us. At other times it challenges us because it exposes attitudes, habits or choices that need to change. Yet even then, His truth is given in love. Christ does not reveal the truth to condemn us, but to set us free and draw us closer to Him.
Today, may we approach the Gospel with a simple prayer: Lord, do not let me merely hear Your Word. Let Your Word change my heart, guide my life and make me holy in Your truth.
