In the Presence of the Angels I Praise You, O Lord
This response from Psalm 138 is a beautiful reminder that our praise of God joins something much greater than ourselves.
The psalmist gives thanks with his whole heart because God has heard his prayer and answered him. That same confidence can become our own. We do not praise God only when everything is easy; we praise Him because He is faithful, because He hears, and because His love remains firm even when our circumstances do not.
“In the presence of the angels I praise you, O Lord” lifts our prayer beyond the ordinary. It reminds us that worship is never merely private. When we turn our hearts toward God, we stand within the worship of heaven itself.
The angels praise Him by doing His will. We praise Him most fully when our words, choices, and lives also become an offering of obedience, gratitude, and trust.
