Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord

Alleluia.
Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord; peace on earth, and glory in the highest.
Alleluia.

There is something deeply moving about these words. They proclaim Jesus as King, yet He is unlike any earthly ruler. He does not come seeking wealth, power, or the praise of men. He comes with a heart full of mercy, offering forgiveness to sinners, hope to the discouraged, and peace to those who welcome Him.

But the peace Christ brings is not simply the absence of troubles. It is the quiet assurance that even when life becomes difficult, we are never beyond God’s love and care.

And perhaps this is where today’s acclamation speaks most personally to us. We gladly call Jesus our King, but do we truly allow Him to reign over our lives? Do His teachings guide our decisions? Does His love shape the way we treat others? Are we willing to forgive, even when our hearts have been deeply wounded?

It is easy to praise Christ with our lips while holding on to anger, pride, or resentment in our hearts.

May we welcome Jesus not only as the King we praise in prayer, but as the Lord we follow in our daily lives. For where Christ truly reigns, love begins to overcome hatred, forgiveness replaces bitterness, and His peace finds a home in the human heart.

Alleluia!
