Blessed the people the Lord has chosen for his heritage

“Blessed the people the Lord has chosen for his heritage.”
Taken from Psalm 33: 12 – 13, 14 – 15, 20 – 21 (Response.) 12b

To belong to God is one of the greatest blessings we can receive. Yet this Psalm reminds us that being chosen by the Lord is not simply a privilege; it is an invitation to live as people who trust Him, seek His will and allow our lives to reflect His goodness.

The Lord sees every human heart. He knows our struggles, our hopes, the prayers we cannot put into words, and even the fears we hide from others. Nothing about our lives is unnoticed by Him.

That is why the Psalm ends in such confidence: “Our soul is waiting for the Lord. He is our help and our shield.” Faith does not mean that every difficulty suddenly disappears. It means knowing where to turn when difficulties come.

Our deepest security is not found in what we possess or in how much control we have over tomorrow. It is found in knowing that we belong to God.

Blessed indeed are the people who can place their hope in Him and say with confidence: the Lord has chosen us for His own.
