From all my terrors, the Lord set me free

The words of today’s Responsorial Psalm remind us that fear does not have the final say in the life of a believer. Every person carries burdens that others may never se, worries about family, health, work, the future, or the weight of past mistakes. Yet the Psalmist speaks from experience, not theory: “From all my terrors, the Lord set me free.”

God’s freedom is often deeper than the removal of our difficulties. He gives us the courage to face what once overwhelmed us, the peace that steadies the heart in uncertain times, and the quiet assurance that we are never abandoned. His presence transforms fear into trust and despair into hope.

This Psalm is an invitation to remember the many times God has already carried us through moments we thought we could never survive. Looking back, we often discover that His hand was guiding us long before we recognized it. That memory strengthens our faith for whatever lies ahead.

Today, let us place our fears before the Lord without hesitation. The God who delivered His people throughout history continues to walk beside His children today. Those who seek Him with sincere hearts will always find that His mercy is greater than their fear, and His love is stronger than every trial.
