I Believe I Shall See the Lord’s Goodness in the Land of the Living

This response from Psalm 27 is a prayer of hope spoken in the middle of uncertainty.

The psalmist does not deny fear, waiting, or difficulty. Instead, he chooses to trust that God’s goodness is still present and will still be revealed. That is what makes these words so powerful: “I believe I shall see the Lord’s goodness in the land of the living.”

Faith does not mean we understand everything that is happening. It means we refuse to believe that darkness has the final word.

There are seasons when answers come slowly and when God seems silent. In those moments, this psalm teaches us to wait with courage. The Lord is still near. His goodness is still at work, even when we cannot yet see the whole picture.

To pray this response sincerely is to say: Lord, I trust You enough to keep hoping.
