“O Lord, Let Your Face Shine Forth on Your Servant.”
This response from Psalm 119 is a prayer for more than comfort. It is a plea for God’s presence, His wisdom, and His light to reach into every part of our lives.
When we ask the Lord to let His face shine upon us, we are asking Him to guide us when we are uncertain, correct us when we have wandered, and give us understanding when His ways are difficult to grasp. The psalm reminds us that even hardship can become a place of learning when we remain close to God.
His light does not always remove the struggle immediately, but it helps us see the road differently.
To pray these words sincerely is to say: Lord, stay near to me, teach me, and let Your presence shape the way I live.
