Response: “The Lord will keep us, as a shepherd keeps his flock.”
(Jeremiah 31:10, 11–12ab, 13)
The image of the Lord as a shepherd speaks of His constant care and faithful love. A good shepherd never loses sight of those entrusted to him; he watches over them, leads them to safety, and gently gathers those who are weak or have wandered. In the same way, God never abandons His people. Even in seasons of uncertainty or sorrow, His loving presence remains our strength and our guide.
This psalm invites us to rest in the confidence that we are never forgotten. The Lord knows each of us by name, walks beside us through every trial, and leads us toward the joy that only He can give. When we place our lives in His hands, we discover the peace that comes from being held by the Good Shepherd, whose love never fails.
