Alleluia.
The word of the Lord is living and active, discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
Alleluia.
The Word of God is not something we simply hear at Mass and then leave behind. It is living and active because God continues to speak through it, reaching into places within us that we sometimes prefer not to examine.
His Word reveals not only what we do, but why we do it. It exposes pride hidden beneath good appearances, fear behind our decisions, selfishness disguised as wisdom, and also the sincere love and faith that perhaps no one else sees.
This is why listening to Scripture requires an open heart. We do not approach God’s Word merely asking, “What does this passage mean?” We must also ask, “Lord, what are You saying to me through it today?”
When we allow His Word to enter deeply, it corrects us, strengthens us and gradually changes our hearts.
Alleluia. Lord, let Your living Word take root within us and lead us closer to You.
