Though Jesus Christ was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that by his poverty you might become rich.

This Alleluia reminds us that the true riches of Christ are not measured in possessions, comfort or earthly success. Though He possessed everything, Jesus freely chose humility, simplicity and ultimately the Cross for our sake.
His poverty reveals the depth of His love. Christ emptied Himself so that we might be filled with grace; He humbled Himself so that we might be raised up; He gave Himself completely so that we might inherit eternal life.
Today, we are reminded that following Jesus means learning to give rather than constantly seeking to receive. The richest life is not necessarily the one that possesses the most, but the one that has learned to love generously, serve humbly and treasure God above everything else.
Alleluia. Christ became poor for our sake, that in Him we might discover riches that this world can never give.
