With joy you will draw water from the wells of the Saviour

“With joy you will draw water from the wells of the Saviour.”

This responsorial psalm is a beautiful invitation to trust in God as the true source of our strength, hope, and renewal. Isaiah speaks of drawing water with joy because God’s saving love is not scarce or distant. It is like a deep well that never runs dry.

There are times in life when we feel spiritually tired, discouraged, or uncertain. In those moments, this response reminds us where to return. We do not have to create our own strength. We come back to the Lord, and from Him we receive what the soul cannot give itself.

The image of water is especially powerful because water gives life, refreshes what is weary, and restores what has become dry. In the same way, God’s grace revives us when fear, sorrow, or sin has left us empty.

To draw from the wells of the Saviour means approaching God with trust, prayer, gratitude, and an open heart. It means believing that His mercy is greater than our weakness and that His presence can bring joy even in difficult seasons.

Today, may we return to the Lord with confidence and drink deeply from the grace He freely gives.

“With joy you will draw water from the wells of the Saviour.”
