This acclamation reminds us that Christian faith is meant to be visible. We shine not by drawing attention to ourselves, but by allowing the truth of Christ to shape the way we live, speak, forgive, serve, and remain faithful.
To “hold fast the word of life” means refusing to let go of the Gospel when the world becomes confusing or when compromise would be easier. God’s word gives direction, steadiness, and hope.
A faithful Christian life can become a quiet light for others. Sometimes that light is simply honesty in a dishonest place, kindness in a harsh moment, or courage when fear is easier.
Today, may we remain rooted in Christ so that His light can be seen through us.
