We adore you, O Christ, and we bless you, because by your Cross you have redeemed the world

“By Your Cross You Have Redeemed the World”

The Cross reveals something extraordinary about the love of God. What appeared to the world as humiliation and defeat became, through Christ, the instrument of our salvation. Jesus did not save us by avoiding suffering, but by entering into it and transforming it through perfect love and obedience to the Father.

When we say, “We adore you, O Christ, and we bless you,” we are looking beyond the suffering of Calvary to the mystery it reveals: the Son of God freely giving Himself for us. On the Cross, mercy meets our sin, love confronts hatred, and life triumphs over death.

This is why Christians do not look upon the Cross without hope. It reminds us that no suffering offered to God in faith is meaningless and no sinner is beyond the reach of His mercy.

Today, as we acclaim the Gospel, may we look upon Christ crucified with gratitude and pray: Lord Jesus, by Your holy Cross, draw us closer to You and teach us to love as You have loved us.
