Response: “At an acceptable time, O Lord, answer me.”
Taken from Psalm 69:15 – 16, 30 – 31, 33 – 34 (Response: 14)
There are moments in life when our prayers seem to rise into silence and we wonder whether God has heard us. Today’s Responsorial Psalm gently reminds us that the Lord never ignores the cry of His children. His answer may not come according to our timetable, but it always comes according to His perfect wisdom and love.
To pray, “At an acceptable time, O Lord, answer me,” is an act of trust. It is choosing to believe that God sees every burden we carry, every hidden tear, and every hope we place before Him. Even in seasons of waiting, He is quietly at work, strengthening our faith and drawing us closer to Himself.
This psalm also calls us to praise God before our prayers are fully answered. A grateful heart recognises that the Lord remains faithful in every circumstance. When we place our confidence in His mercy rather than in our own understanding, we discover a peace that no hardship can take away.
