Come to me, all who labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest, says the Lord.

“Come to Me, and I Will Give You Rest”
Jesus does not tell the weary to first put their lives in order before coming to Him. He simply says, “Come to me.” We can come carrying our worries, disappointments, responsibilities, grief, failures and the burdens we have grown tired of carrying alone.
The rest Christ promises is deeper than physical rest. It is the peace of knowing that our lives are held in the hands of God, even when our circumstances have not yet changed. He may not immediately remove every cross, but He gives us the grace to carry what once seemed impossible.
There is great tenderness in this invitation. Christ knows that we become tired. He knows the burdens hidden behind smiles that nobody else sees. And still He calls us closer.
Sometimes faith begins with something very simple: bringing to Jesus what has become too heavy for us and trusting that we were never meant to carry it without Him.
