“If you are reproached for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of God rests upon you.”
Following Jesus does not always bring acceptance or understanding. There will be moments when standing firmly in our faith means facing criticism, rejection, or ridicule. Yet today’s Gospel Acclamation reminds us that the approval of the world is never greater than the blessing of belonging to Christ.
When we remain faithful to the Lord despite opposition, we do not stand alone. The Holy Spirit strengthens us, giving us the courage to uphold the truth without hatred and to respond to rejection with patience and love.
Our faith is not measured by how loudly we proclaim Christ, but by how faithfully we follow Him, especially when doing so comes at a personal cost.
May we never be ashamed of our faith, and may our lives reflect the love, humility, and courage of Jesus Christ. For those who remain faithful to Him, even in suffering, are never abandoned by God.
