The response, “The Lord has chosen Sion, he has desired it for his dwelling,” reminds us that God does not simply visit His people, He desires to remain with them. Throughout salvation history, God chose Zion as a sign of His faithful presence, and through Christ He now makes His dwelling in every heart that welcomes Him with faith.
This psalm invites us to become living temples of God’s presence. When we choose holiness, prayer, and love of neighbour, we make room for the Lord to dwell within us. In a world searching for lasting security, our greatest confidence is knowing that God delights to remain close to His people and never abandons those who place their trust in Him.
