You have received the spirit of sonship; in him we cry, “Abba! Father!”
Alleluia.
This Alleluia reminds us that our relationship with God is not distant or fearful. Through the Holy Spirit, we have been welcomed into God’s family and given the grace to call Him “Abba” – Father.
That means we can come before Him with the trust of a child: in our joy, our weakness, our confusion, and our need. We do not pray to a stranger. We pray to a Father who knows us, loves us, and desires to draw us closer to Himself.
Today, may the Spirit deepen that trust within us, so that when we say, “Father,” it comes not only from our lips, but from a heart that knows it belongs to Him.
